Sorry I missed the Festival - and you!

I’m still cringing over the phone call I received from a friend at the Carroll County Library’s first Book Festival. “So, where are you?” she asked.

Where was I? Not at the Book Festival, that’s for sure! I had handed out little blurbs to friends announcing I’d be there, fully intending to show up. But, as life has a wicked sense of humor, my hubby took a tumble and broke his kneecap! Surgery followed on August 20, and he is STILL wearing a brace, with at least another month to go. That’s right—no driving for him! Which, I suspect, is making me crazier than it’s making him. Who knew a broken kneecap could put an entire household under house arrest?

But never fear, dear readers! I haven’t disappeared, and there’s still time to meet, greet, and take a seat with me at the annual Author’s Day at the Ag Center in Westminster on Saturday, November 7!

I’ll be sharing the day with my favorite writing buddy, Richard Caldwell, author of The Empress and Fletcher’s Pursuit. Between the two of us, we’ll have something for just about every reader: cozy mysteries, historical romance, and romantic suspense. In other words, whether you like your books with a little murder, a little romance, or enough suspense to keep you awake at night, we’ve got you covered!

So please stop by, say hello, and pick up a book or two. Winter is coming, and you never know when you might get snowed in. When the roads are buried, the power flickers, and you’re wondering what to do until spring, you’ll be glad you have a few good books to keep you company.

And unlike my husband’s kneecap, these books are ready to go wherever you do!
