For those who love a mystery with plenty of twists and turns—and a dash of humor—my second book, A Priest, a Rabbi, and a Baptist Minister, is a story I couldn’t wait to bring to life. It follows a zany yet heartfelt trio of clergy who are as determined as they are entertaining when it comes to helping solve crimes.

Set in the peaceful yet deceptively intriguing Windy Meadows retirement community, this whodunnit introduces Maureen McNeely, a sharp and dedicated detective. She’s new to leading homicide cases, and her first assignment puts her under intense pressure with a case that just won’t crack. Her captain is constantly on her back, and complicating matters even further is her outspoken Irish grandmother, who also lives at Windy Meadows and doesn’t hesitate to share her old-school opinions on Maureen’s career and single status. The last thing Maureen’s grandmother thinks she should be doing is investigating murders, but as far as Maureen’s concerned, there’s no better fit.
With the stakes high, Maureen turns to her Uncle Brendan O’Clery, a former US Marine turned priest, for help. Father O’Clery’s keen mind and experience as an intelligence officer give him a knack for puzzles and logic games, which he puts to work in unraveling the clues of this complex case. Realizing the challenge ahead, he calls on two of his closest friends—a rabbi and a Baptist minister—who each bring their own unique insights and personalities to the case.
As the story unfolds, this unlikely trio of clergy dives headfirst into the mystery, driven by a sense of justice, humor, and friendship. They may not always approach things conventionally, but their bond and their determination make them an unforgettable team. Alongside Maureen, they face dead-ends, strange clues, and plenty of suspenseful moments, but the twists keep them (and the reader) guessing until the very end.
With A Priest, a Rabbi, and a Baptist Minister, I wanted to create a mystery that kept readers on their toes and reminded them of the power of friendship, family, and a good laugh—even in the most serious of circumstances. If you’re up for a wild ride with an unlikely crime-solving crew, I think you’ll find yourself as wrapped up in the mystery as they are. So, settle in, join Maureen and her quirky team, and get ready to uncover the secrets hidden in Windy Meadows—you’re in for a whodunnit you won’t soon forget.
